Project Manager

Fawkes & Reece London

Our client is a leading construction specialist with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a dedicated Project Manager to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of individual construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that believes in giving its Project Managers ownership of their projects. Rather than spreading your time across multiple sites, you'll be responsible for leading the delivery of one project at a time, ensuring it is completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of a live construction site from site mobilisation through to practical completion and client handover.

You will lead the site team, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, monitor programme performance and ensure every aspect of the build is delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with the Contracts Manager and commercial team, you'll be empowered to make key decisions that drive the successful completion of your project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the delivery of a single construction project from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Lead and support the site management team to achieve programme, quality and safety objectives.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve any issues that could impact programme or quality.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Control project costs in conjunction with the commercial team, ensuring works are delivered within budget.
  • Chair site progress meetings and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors throughout the project.
  • Oversee snagging, commissioning and final handover, ensuring an exceptional finish and client satisfaction.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering construction projects on site.
  • Essential experience working with lightweight steel frame (LSF) construction systems.
  • Experience taking full responsibility for the successful delivery of individual construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, programming and site logistics.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to build high-performing site teams and maintain positive client relationships.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent decision-making skills.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
  • A full UK driving licence.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of high-profile lightweight steel frame projects from start to finish.
  • A supportive business that empowers its Project Managers to focus on delivering quality projects rather than juggling multiple sites.
  • Long-term career progression with a growing and respected contractor.
  • A collaborative working environment with a strong commitment to quality, safety and professional development.

If you're an experienced Project Manager with lightweight steel frame expertise and are looking for a role where you can focus on delivering one project to the highest possible standard, we'd love to hear from you.
