Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Project Manager to manage the planning, execution, and on-site delivery of projects within a government facilities management contract, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, health and safety standards, and client expectations.
This is a delivery-focused role that combines strategic project management with hands-on site leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating project activities from initial planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with contractual requirements.
Working across office and site environments, the Project Manager will collaborate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain progress, manage risk, and support successful project outcomes. The role offers a mobile working approach and is open to candidates nationwide who can travel to project locations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules in line with NEC4 contract requirements.
- Coordinate resources, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Prepare and maintain programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Administer NEC4 contract processes, including early warnings, risk registers, and compensation events.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with public sector governance requirements.
- Support procurement activities, prepare tender documentation alongside the Quantity Surveyor, and manage tender processes.
- Facilitate effective collaboration between office teams, site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Monitor project performance against KPIs and SLAs, manage risks and change control, and ensure variations and project reporting are appropriately documented and agreed.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in project and site management within facilities management, construction, or government environments.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and public sector delivery standards.
- Experience managing contractors and site operations, including health and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with project controls, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on and delivery-focused approach with strong organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across office and site environments.
- Proactive problem-solving ability with a safety-first mindset.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to travel to required project locations.
- Full UK driving licence.
