Project Manager (400kV Transmission Projects)

Location: Warwickshire (Hybrid working with occasional site travel as required)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of 400kV transmission infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on cable installation works within complex tunnel and shaft environments.

Based from a Warwickshire office, this role offers hybrid working alongside site visits as required. You will play a key role in delivering major infrastructure works for a high-profile UK transmission client.

Candidates with current or previous National Grid experience are highly desirable.



🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of 400kV transmission cable installation works
  • Coordinate design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
  • Oversee tunnel and shaft installation operations
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist installation teams
  • Administer NEC contracts, including:
    • Early Warning Notices (EWNs)
    • Compensation Events (CEs)
    • Programme management
  • Monitor programme, commercial performance, quality, and safety
  • Liaise with client stakeholders and principal contractors
  • Review and manage:
    • RAMS
    • ITPs
    • Technical submissions and construction documentation
  • Attend site to resolve technical and delivery challenges


✅ Essential Experience

  • Proven experience delivering National Grid 132kV-400kV transmission projects
  • Demonstrable experience with NEC contract administration
  • Experience working on major infrastructure or tunnelling projects
  • Strong understanding of CDM and safety-critical environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence


⭐ Highly Desirable

  • Experience within regulated utilities or transmission operators
  • Tunnel or shaft installation experience
  • SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH certification
  • Primavera P6 experience
  • Experience with temporary works coordination
