A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Manchester.
Responsibilities of Project Manager:
- Produce financial forecasts, monitor and control project costs, and deliver monthly performance reports
- Deliver projects from design phase through to completion, including all handover documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, framework suppliers, and design consultants
- Develop and maintain construction programmes, coordinating site investigations throughout
- Ensure production of Project Plans, risk assessments, method statements, and procurement processes
- Maintain commercial tension, prepare estimates for additional works, and support new tender submissions
- Set the highest standards of HS&E leadership, ensuring compliance with procedures, legal obligations, and subcontractor compliance
- Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with HSG47, HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8, and other regulatory standards
- Manage and produce ITPs, maintain the QA File, and ensure as-builts and O&M manuals are submitted on completion
Essential Requirements for Project Manager:
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- CSCS Manager's Card, SMSTS, TWC, Appointed Person, and NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control
- Knowledge of NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
- Proven experience delivering water and utilities projects, specifically shaft sinking and deep drainage
Desirable:
- CEng MICE
- Knowledge of JCT form of contract
