Project Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a background in engineering, manufacturing, or rolling stock to lead the delivery of heavy maintenance and rolling stock overhaul projects from mobilisation through to completion.
Working closely with customers, operational teams and senior stakeholders, you will take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle while acting as the main point of contact for customers throughout delivery. You will oversee planning, reporting, budgets, project governance and stakeholder management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage rolling stock overhaul and heavy maintenance projects from initiation through to completion.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance against cost, quality, delivery and KPI targets.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate project meetings and communicate progress through regular reporting.
- Manage project risks, issues and change control activities.
- Work closely with production, engineering and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare financial reports, margin tracking and project performance analysis.
- Support tender activities and project mobilisation where required.
- Ensure all projects are delivered in line with health, safety and compliance standards.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous Project Management experience within engineering, manufacturing.
- Experience delivering complex projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Experience producing project reports, budgets and performance data.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or a recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 (or equivalent).
- Leadership or Management qualification (ILM or equivalent).
- IOSH qualification or similar.
