Project Quantity Surveyor
Involve Recruitment
We are working on behalf of a leading regional contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects across South Wales.
Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, our client is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a Project Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, well-established business delivering projects ranging in value from £6 million to £20 million, offering long-term continuity of work and genuine career progression within a progressive and supportive environment.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will initially take commercial responsibility for a £7 million commercial development, managing the project under a JCT Design & Build contract.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking full commercial responsibility for a £7 million commercial construction project from inception through to final account.
- Managing the commercial administration of JCT Design & Build contracts.
- Preparing cost reports, forecasts, valuations, applications for payment and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Procuring and managing subcontract packages, including valuations, payments and variations.
- Managing contractual changes, variations and associated commercial negotiations.
- Monitoring project costs, identifying commercial risks and implementing measures to maximise project profitability.
- Working closely with the Commercial Director, site teams and project managers to ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial objectives.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and supporting financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the general building or commercial construction sector and will possess a good understanding of commercial management and contract administration. Experience working under JCT Design & Build forms of contract is highly desirable, together with strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams and the supply chain.
This role would suit either an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a Project Quantity Surveyor position or an established Quantity Surveyor looking to accelerate their career within a growing commercial team. With direct exposure to the Commercial Director, you'll benefit from increased responsibility, ongoing support and clear opportunities for professional development.
In return, you'll join a financially secure regional contractor offering a competitive salary and benefits package, long-term continuity of local work, and the opportunity to build your career within a progressive business delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial projects across South Wales.
