The Role

As Projects Quality Manager, you will lead the development, certification and delivery of a project-focused Quality Management System (QMS) across a major capital programme.

You will ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 10005, embedding quality assurance across EPC contractors, international suppliers and third-party inspection bodies. You'll play a key role in ensuring project deliverables meet contractual, regulatory and notified body requirements.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead achievement and maintenance of ISO 9001 certification for project quality systems.
  • Establish and manage the Project Quality Management System and Quality Management Plans.
  • Lead risk-based audits across internal teams, EPC contractors and suppliers.
  • Act as lead internal auditor and quality authority for clients, regulators and certification bodies.
  • Manage non-conformances, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee inspection, NDT and dimensional compliance across international supply chains and module yards.
  • Assure third-party inspectors and notified bodies, including PED requirements.
  • Drive quality performance, reporting and continuous improvement across EPC delivery.
  • Support supplier development, lessons learned and cost-of-poor-quality reduction, using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies where appropriate.


About You

You'll be an experienced quality leader with a strong track record on large-scale, high-value projects, ideally within energy, oil & gas, hydrogen or another regulated industry.


You will have:

  • Expertise in ISO 9001 implementation and auditing, with Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC quality deliverables, including ITPs, inspections and document control.
  • Experience managing supplier quality and third-party inspection across international supply chains.
  • Proven experience delivering audit programmes and engaging with regulators/certification bodies.
  • Strong capability in non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and notified body requirements, including PED.
  • The ability to turn quality standards into practical, effective project systems.
  • A relevant degree and progress towards or achievement of Chartered Quality Professional status.

You will be comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to project delivery, influencing senior stakeholders and driving rigorous quality execution across complex, multi-contractor environments.
