About the Role:
Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with various primary schools in East London to appoint a Psychology/Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting in immediately.
This is a long-term position as a SEND Teaching Assistant where a degree in Psychology or Criminology is beneficial. Experience working in an SEND Setting is preferred, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities for the Psychology/Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant
role:
- Support a pupils with SEND on a 1 to 1 basis
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Encourage student engagement
- Help manage behaviour in a positive and supportive manner
- Adapt learning materials to meet the individual student’s needs
- Monitor and record student progress where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times
Requirements for the Psychology/Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistant role:
- Prior experience working with children with SEND (desirable)
- A degree in Psychology or Criminology (desirable)
- Undertaking a degree in Psychology or Criminology (desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of SEND
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- A proactive and positive approach to supporting children with their learning
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
