Position: Purchasing Specialist
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Job Type: Permanent / Onsite

My client, a global manufacturing business are on the hunt for a dynamic and tenacious Purchasing Specialist to join their tightly knit team!

Role and Responsibilities – Purchasing Specialist 
In this role, you will look to manage and control the relationships with suppliers of raw materials, factored products and services.

Other responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary customer contact for all production programme matters, providing clear updates, recovery plans, and communication of technical or commercial issues.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of programmes
• Lead regular customer reviews covering performance metrics, reliability trends, repair performance, and emerging in-service issues.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to manage in-service issues affecting the company’s equipment.

Experience or Qualifications – Purchasing Specialist

• Proven negotiating skills working with manufacturing suppliers
• CIPS membership or equivalent
• Previous experience of leading strategic sourcing methodologies
• Proven contract management skills
