An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced QA/QC Manager to join a leading contractor delivering a major critical infrastructure project in the North East. This is a flagship development requiring exceptional quality standards, technical expertise and strong leadership throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
As QA/QC Manager, you will take ownership of the project's quality management systems, ensuring all works are delivered in line with client requirements, industry standards and project specifications. Working closely with construction, engineering and commissioning teams, you will play a key role in driving a culture of quality from design through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan.
- Lead all QA/QC activities across mechanical, electrical and civil disciplines.
- Manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and inspection processes.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and project standards.
- Review subcontractor quality documentation and monitor performance throughout delivery.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with commissioning teams to ensure seamless project completion and client handover.
- Produce quality reports, KPIs and project updates for senior management and clients.
- Mentor and develop site quality engineers and inspectors.
- Promote a proactive culture of quality, safety and operational excellence across the project.
- Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager on large-scale construction or critical infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience within data centres, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, energy, advanced manufacturing or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience managing ITPs, inspections, audits, NCRs and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent knowledge of construction quality standards across mechanical, electrical and civil works.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
- Relevant engineering or construction qualification.
- Lead Auditor qualification is advantageous but not essential.
