Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit a QHSE & Continuous Improvement Manager.
The Job you’ll do
- Perform product and process inspections to verify compliance with customer, engineering and company requirements.
- Act as the site's Quality Controller during the start-up phase until the quality team is established. Review inspection records, test results and manufacturing documentation.
- Manage non-conforming products and coordinate containment activities. Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections as required.
- Support production teams with quality-related decision-making and problem resolution. Establish inspection standards, quality checkpoints and control plans.
- Develop inspection documentation and quality records. Analyse quality performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support customer inspections and audits. Develop and maintain the Integrated Management System.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of ISO 9001. Prepare the business for certification and surveillance audits.
- Drive quality assurance and quality control activities across the site. Lead internal audits and audit programmes.
- Develop and maintain CAPA processes. Lead root cause investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Promote a strong behavioural safety culture. Champion employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability objectives. Act as the site's subject matter expert for Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Continuous Improvement activities. Develop and deliver QHSE training and awareness programmes.
- Personally conduct audits, risk assessments, inspections and workplace observations. Facilitate Continuous Improvement initiatives across the business.
- Establish performance metrics and reporting systems for QHSE and Continuous Improvement. Facilitate Kaizen events, improvement workshops and structured problem-solving activities.
- Support operational teams with practical day-to-day quality and safety issues.
- Spend significant time within production and service areas, engaging directly with employees, identifying risks, solving problems and driving standards.
- Build the foundation for future departmental growth whilst remaining actively involved in operational activities.
About You

- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability and a strong sense of ownership.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety or a related discipline, Qualified Lead Auditor, IOSH Managing Safely.
- Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 management systems.
- Previous hands-on experience undertaking quality inspection or quality control activities. Strong understanding of CAPA, root cause analysis and auditing methodologies.
- Proven ability to work independently and establish quality processes in a growing or changing business environment.
Desirable
NEBOSH General Certificate, Mental Health First Aider qualification.
Wellbeing Champion experience, Experience implementing or maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Lean or Continuous Improvement qualification.
Experience supporting a start-up, greenfield or rapidly growing manufacturing operation.
