We are recruiting experienced Social Workers to join a dedicated Child Protection Team in Huyton, Merseyside. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a service that has been designed to promote high-quality practice, manageable caseloads, and a healthy work-life balance.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Child Protection Team, you will:

• Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases.
• Complete high-quality assessments and develop effective child-centred plans.
• Undertake safeguarding interventions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
• During your allocated duty week, progress new cases through to the first court hearing, after which proceedings are transferred to another team.
• Outside of duty weeks, benefit from seven weeks of protected time to focus on assessment, intervention, and direct work with families.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• A recognised Social Work qualification.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within Children's Services, ideally in Child Protection, Safeguarding, Assessment, or Child in Need teams.
• Sound knowledge of relevant children's legislation, safeguarding procedures, and statutory guidance.
• Strong assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage a varied caseload while delivering high-quality, child-focused practice.
