Quality Assurance Lead

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Lead to join our growing team, supporting our nursing homes across the South of England. This is a pivotal role focused on improving quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert clinical governance and operational support across our services.
Working closely with our Regional Support Managers and Home Managers, you will mentor, coach and challenge teams to achieve excellence in care, ensuring residents receive safe, effective and person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities
- Support, mentor and develop Regional Support Managers to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Analyse and interpret quality and performance KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Review and monitor CQC inspection reports and action plans, ensuring homes are inspection-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support investigations into serious safeguarding concerns, ensuring robust, timely and person-centred outcomes.
- Manage responses to coroners’ investigations, Prevention of Future Death reports and associated regulatory processes.
- Provide leadership in clinical governance, ensuring high standards of nursing practice, medicines management, infection prevention, documentation and resident safety.
- Undertake quality assurance visits, audits and compliance reviews across services.
- Support homes before, during and following CQC inspections.
- Work collaboratively with operational and clinical teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor incidents, accidents, complaints and clinical outcomes to identify themes and reduce risk.
- Support serious incident investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, professional standards, company policies and best practice guidance.
- Build positive relationships with external professionals, commissioners, safeguarding teams, CQC and healthcare partners.
- Produce high-quality reports and provide assurance to senior leadership on quality performance across the region.
About You
You will be an experienced clinical or quality professional with a strong background in nursing home care and a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape.
You will have:
- Significant leadership experience within elderly care or nursing homes.
- Currently working at a multi-site level within a care home group where you have suppported home managers and you are looking for that more senior role.
- Previous Home Managers experience within a nursing home, achieving good CQC inspections.
- Excellent knowledge of CQC regulations, Key Lines of Enquiry and quality standards.
- Extensive experience of safeguarding adults, clinical governance and risk management.
- Experience supporting services through CQC inspections and quality improvement programmes.
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting KPIs and quality data.
- Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Experience managing complex investigations, serious incidents and coroners’ processes.
- The confidence to support, challenge and influence leaders at all levels.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the South of England.What We Offer
