NEW JOB VACANCY IN TELFORD (SHROPSHIRE) - QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

Are you an experienced Quality Control Technician, QC Technician, QA Technician, Quality Assurance Technician, Quality Inspector, Quality Controller or Quality Auditor seeking a new job in Telford?!

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford (Shropshire), the working hours are day shifts Monday to Friday (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week), and the annual salary is up to £35,000 per annum (DOE).

This role is working within a lab environment and the hiring manager would prefer someone with previous experience within the Plastics / PVC / Plastic Extrusion industry, but they will consider candidates with a solid background within the manufacturing sector.

Whilst this role is more hands-on to begin with, there is an opportunity to progress to a Supervisory role within the QC lab for the right individual.

What You Will Do:

• Follow established QC procedures and run specific tests at defined intervals to meet product specifications.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in a clean, working condition and respect all housekeeping standards.
• Support Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, including following LOTO procedures and ensuring guards and interlocks are properly used.
• Report faulty or broken equipment promptly via the correct process, helping protect quality and operational continuity.
• Assist other departments by preparing work orders, checking raw material stocks, and obtaining samples when needed.
• Keep laboratory documentation up to date, including posting current SDS information and using SharePoint to access reports and QSE materials.

What You Will Bring:

• Previous QC experience, ideally within a laboratory or production quality environment.
• Knowledge and working practice of the plastics / PVC / plastics extrusion industry (would be preferred), including how quality testing supports production outcomes.
• The ability to manage tight deadlines and work calmly under supervision, with strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills and a safety-focused mindset, including awareness of hazardous products and how to communicate risks.
• Willingness to learn and adapt, supporting continuous improvement and participating in training.

This Quality Control Technician role plays a key part in delivering Quality & Safety outcomes for the site, supporting dependable product quality for internal and external customers. It also offers a collaborative environment where quality priorities, risk awareness and practical teamwork come together to keep operations running smoothly.
