Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major section of the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed to the highest quality standards.
The RoleAs a Quality Engineer, you will support the delivery team by maintaining quality processes across the project, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain project quality procedures and management systems.
- Review and complete Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct quality inspections, audits and assurance checks across site activities.
- Ensure compliance with HS2, client and project specifications.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
- Review quality records and ensure project documentation is completed accurately.
- Support handover documentation and quality sign-off processes.
- Liaise with engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to promote quality best practice.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives across the project.
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Experience managing ITPs, test records, quality documentation and inspections.
- Knowledge of highways, structures, earthworks or utilities packages advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
- CSCS Card required
- ISO 9001 knowledge desirable.
