Quality Engineer

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major section of the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed to the highest quality standards.

As a Quality Engineer, you will support the delivery team by maintaining quality processes across the project, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements.

• Implement and maintain project quality procedures and management systems.
• Review and complete Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Conduct quality inspections, audits and assurance checks across site activities.
• Ensure compliance with HS2, client and project specifications.
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Review quality records and ensure project documentation is completed accurately.
• Support handover documentation and quality sign-off processes.
• Liaise with engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to promote quality best practice.
• Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives across the project.

• Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Experience managing ITPs, test records, quality documentation and inspections.
• Knowledge of highways, structures, earthworks or utilities packages advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
• CSCS Card required
• ISO 9001 knowledge desirable.
