Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £21.00 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am to 1:00pm
Flexible working available where operationally possible
Overtime opportunities available

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector to join a growing precision engineering manufacturer.

Working within a high-quality manufacturing environment, you will take ownership of quality control activities from incoming goods inspection through to final inspection, ensuring products consistently meet customer and industry standards.

This is a hands-on role that would suit an individual with a strong engineering background, excellent inspection skills, and experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials and subcontract returns. 
  • Carry out in-process inspection and validate first-off measurements. 
  • Maintain, calibrate and control measuring instruments and inspection equipment. 
  • Record and document inspection results using internal quality systems.
  • Raise, investigate and manage NCRs, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Produce and present quality KPI reports.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters. 
  • Support internal and supplier audits where required.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing ISO 9001 quality standards. 
  • Promote continuous improvement throughout the business. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Inspector position within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
  • A mechanical engineering background.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Experience operating programmable CMM equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Experience dealing with NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
