Quality Inspector (CMM) - Precision Engineering

Salary: £18 – £21 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent — 40 hours (Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2pm)
About the role
Pact Engineering is a long-established, family-owned precision engineering company producing high-quality, complex components for the motorsport, food production and wider manufacturing sectors. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Quality Inspector to help maintain the standards our customers rely on.
This suits an experienced inspector, or a competent engineer ready to step into a dedicated quality role, who wants to develop within a well-run machine shop.
What you'll be doing
- Inspecting precision components and finished products against specification
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Using precision measurement equipment including micrometers, gauges and CMM
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
- Producing detailed inspection reports and quality documentation
- Identifying defects, supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Working with production teams to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects
- Supporting the development and maintenance of quality procedures and ISO9001 standards
What you'll bring
- Experience in quality inspection within a precision engineering environment
- Experience programming and operating Aberlink Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
