  • Are you an experienced Quality Inspector or CMM Programmer looking for a technically challenging role within a precision engineering and defence environment?
  • This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing manufacturer where you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and performance of high-value components supplied to demanding customers.
  • Working alongside experienced Engineering, Production and Quality teams, you will be responsible for advanced inspection activities, CMM programming, dimensional measurement and supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
 
The Role
As a Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for:
✅ Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision components and assemblies.
✅ Programming and operating CMM equipment, laser trackers and advanced measurement systems.
✅ Inspecting components using engineering drawings, CAD models and customer specifications.
✅ Creating and maintaining inspection programmes and measurement processes.
✅ Analysing inspection results and producing detailed quality reports.
✅ Supporting investigations into non-conformances, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
✅ Working closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
✅ Supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities and quality improvement initiatives.
✅ Ensuring inspection processes, equipment and documentation meet required standards.
 
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
✔ Previous experience in a quality inspection role within engineering or manufacturing.
✔ Strong CMM programming and inspection experience.
✔ Experience using laser tracker systems and inspection software.
✔ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and GD&T requirements.
✔ Experience with precision measurement equipment and metrology techniques.
✔ Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards.
✔ Understanding of FAIR requirements to AS9102 standards.
✔ Experience supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
✔ A strong understanding of precision manufacturing processes including milling and turning.
