Quality Inspector in Pontypool

On behalf of our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, we are recruiting a Quality Inspector to join their busy production facility in Pontypool.

Working as part of the Quality and Production team, you will be responsible for inspecting automotive components and finished products to ensure they meet the required quality, specification and finish standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where attention to detail, consistency and a strong focus on quality are essential.

This is a permenent role, with day shifts only. 

The Role

As a Quality Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting automotive components and finished products throughout the production process.
  • Carrying out visual and dimensional inspections to ensure products meet the required specification.
  • Identifying defects, damage, imperfections and non-conformances.
  • Using a range of inspection equipment and measuring tools where required.
  • Following inspection procedures, technical drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Recording inspection results and maintaining accurate quality documentation.
  • Working closely with Production and Assembly teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Escalating significant defects or recurring quality issues to the relevant team members.
  • Supporting investigations into non-conforming products and helping to identify root causes.
  • Ensuring products are inspected consistently and meet the required right-first-time standards.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping to maintain high standards across the production facility.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in a quality, inspection, automotive, manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
  • Experience carrying out visual, dimensional or quality inspections.
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
  • Experience using basic measuring and inspection equipment.
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • A methodical and organised approach to inspection and record keeping.
  • A good understanding of quality standards and the importance of right-first-time production.
  • The confidence to identify and report quality issues when required.
  • The ability to work effectively with Production and Assembly teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
