O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager / Facades Inspector to join a major multi-million-pound construction project in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong individual to undertake independent quality inspections and oversee the installation standards of a substantial facades package on a high-profile scheme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all facade installations are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, industry standards and project quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities-
Independently inspect and assess the quality of facade installations throughout the construction programme.

Monitor workmanship, installation methods and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Undertake regular site inspections, identifying defects, non-conformances and areas requiring remedial works.

Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality assurance documentation and installation records.

Ensure compliance with relevant Building Regulations, fire safety requirements and facade system specifications.

Liaise with the principal contractor, facade subcontractors, design teams and project management.

Produce detailed inspection reports, photographic records and quality assessments.

Monitor the close-out of defects and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are completed to the required standard.

Support quality assurance processes through to final inspections, snagging and handover.

Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Facades Inspector, Facades Manager or Clerk of Works capacity.

Strong technical understanding of external envelope and facade systems, including curtain walling, cladding, glazing and associated interfaces.

Previous experience inspecting facade packages on large-scale commercial or major construction projects.

Thorough understanding of construction quality standards, installation tolerances and relevant regulatory requirements.

Ability to identify technical defects and challenge substandard workmanship confidently and professionally.

Strong reporting, communication and documentation skills.

Experience working independently on behalf of a principal contractor, developer or client would be advantageous.

Long-term freelance opportunity – minimum 12 months.
