Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Operative to join our Quality & Inspection team. Working within our AS9100-certified manufacturing environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all components meet customer specifications and quality standards before progressing through production or being dispatched to customers. This role is ideal for an experienced inspector who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, has a strong eye for detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced engineering environment. Previous aerospace inspection experience is essential.

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Location: Loughborough Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00 Friday: 07:00 – 13:00 (Early finish every week)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Component Inspection: Perform 100% visual and dimensional inspection of machined components using Mantis Visio, Verniers calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment. Ensuring all components meet drawing specification and quality standards, identifying and reporting any defects or non-conformance prior to release.

Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements to verify component conformity.

Teamwork & Delivery Performance: Working collaboratively with the quality and production team to ensure inspection activities are completed efficiently and delivery deadlines are achieved.

Quality Department Support: Providing day-to-day support to the Quality Manager, assisting with inspection reports, maintaining accurate inspection records, and organising inspection gauges and measuring equipment for schedule calibration requirements.

Non-Conformance Investigation: Identify, report, and support investigations into rejected or non-conforming parts, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions where required.

AS9100 Compliance: Supporting the quality management system and ensuring all inspection activities comply with AS9100 standards.

Candidate Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

• Industry Experience: Previous experience within an aerospace quality or inspection environment is essential.

• Technical Understanding: The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications accurately.

• Attention to Detail: Maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality when inspecting components.

• Organisation Skills: The ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining accurate records and documentation.

• Strong Communication: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.
