The organisation places significant emphasis on professional development, collaboration and delivering high-quality outcomes for its clients. This is an opportunity to join a business where you can contribute to the bigger picture while developing your own technical and professional expertise through a clear, structured progression pathway.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial and contractual expertise across a range of major projects, with a particular focus on the practical application of NEC4 contracts.

You will work closely with clients, project managers, contractors and wider project teams to manage day-to-day commercial matters, support effective contract administration and help drive successful project outcomes.

The role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with a solid understanding of NEC4 who wants to further develop their contractual expertise within a consultancy environment, with the opportunity to progress through structured progression pathways.

  • Prepare and manage pricing documents across different NEC contract options.
  • Assess contractual positions and provide commercially sound advice to clients and project teams.
  • Support the early warning process, identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Work alongside project managers and planners to understand programme requirements and potential contractual impacts.
  • Maintain effective contractual communications, records and processes.
  • Support contract compliance relating to areas including defects, insurance, bonds, liability, delay damages and dispute avoidance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Promote collaborative working and the principles of the NEC ethos across project teams and the wider supply chain.
  • Take an active role in developing high-performing project teams through effective communication, accountability and collaborative problem-solving.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Engineering. HNC/HND candidates may also be considered.
  • Practical experience working with NEC4 contracts.
  • Good understanding of NEC4 structure, principles and their application within commercial management.
  • Experience with NEC payment mechanisms, compensation events, change management, programme impacts and risk mitigation.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret contractual requirements and provide clear, practical advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to constructively challenge commercial and contractual decisions where appropriate.
  • Membership of, or progress towards, RICS, CICES, CIOB or MAPM is preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a consultancy where technical excellence, client focus and collaborative working are central to the way projects are delivered.

You will gain exposure to complex and high-profile projects while developing your NEC expertise within a structured professional development framework, with a clear pathway.

The role offers the chance to develop not only as a Quantity Surveyor, but as a trusted commercial and contractual adviser who can influence project outcomes and contribute to the wider success of clients and project teams.
