Quantity Surveyor

Location: Basingstoke. Hampshire
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + Package

A well-established building and construction business based in Basingstoke is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects from inception through to final account. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to run their own jobs, work closely with company leadership, and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

You will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of multiple projects, managing both financial performance and client relationships throughout.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Preparing and submitting valuations
• Managing variations and additional works
• Producing and agreeing final accounts
• Carrying out take-offs and cost assessments
• Monitoring project costs and profitability
• Subcontractor procurement and account management
• Commercial reporting and forecasting
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
• Ensuring projects are delivered on budget and commercially successful

We're looking for an individual who is ambitious, organised and capable of working independently.

You will have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle
• Experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts
• The ability to run your own projects with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
