An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a rapidly growing construction contractor as they continue their expansion into the UK.
With Leeds becoming the company's UK commercial headquarters, this is a great opportunity to join at a key stage of their growth and become an integral part of their developing UK commercial team. The role will have exposure to projects nationally, with the Leeds team supporting a growing pipeline of work.
The business has an established track record across commercial construction, fit-out, refurbishment and Design & Build, delivering projects across offices, education, hospitality, leisure, retail and high-specification commercial developments.
Recent projects include major corporate headquarters, office developments, education facilities, student accommodation, hospitality schemes and large-scale commercial refurbishments.
The Role
As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction and estimating support through to delivery and final account.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing projects commercially from pre-construction through to final account
- Supporting estimating and tendering activities
- Preparing and managing monthly CVRs
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts and financial performance
- Managing fully subcontracted packages from procurement through to final account
- Managing variations, valuations, applications and payments
- Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Using Excel extensively for CVRs and financial analysis
- Working with E-evolution for commercial reporting
About You
We're looking for an Intermediate QS who has built their experience within a main contracting environment and is comfortable taking ownership of the commercial side of projects.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous main contractor experience
- Experience managing fully subcontracted works
- Strong understanding of JCT Design & Build
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Proven CVR experience
- Strong Excel skills
- A genuine Design & Build mentality
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
- A stable employment history with clear career progression
