Quantity Surveyor

We are working with an established main contractor who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is a great opportunity for a QS who is looking to develop their experience within a supportive commercial environment, working alongside experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors.

The successful candidate will typically be part of a commercial team delivering projects in the region of £10m, while also having the opportunity to take commercial responsibility for smaller projects of around £3m.

The Role

  • Manage the commercial aspects of projects from start to completion
  • Work as part of a wider commercial team on larger projects
  • Take responsibility for smaller projects, typically around £3m
  • Support with subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance
  • Work closely with the Senior QS and wider project team
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors, clients and suppliers
  • Ensure commercial procedures and reporting requirements are maintained

About You

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:

  • Build Main contractor experience – essential
  • Experience working on construction projects of approximately £3m–£10m+
  • A good understanding of commercial and contractual processes
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a commercial team
  • Confidence taking ownership of smaller projects
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience

This role would suit a Project QS, Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Assistant QS who is ready to take the next step in their career.
