Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing / Construction

Optima Site Solutions is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Lewisham.

We are particularly interested in candidates with Quantity Surveying experience and a strong background in social housing.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
• Preparing estimates, valuations, variations and cost reports.
• Working with SOR Codes (Schedule of Rates) to price works, assess costs and complete valuations.
• Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial and cost risks.
• Reviewing contractor applications, valuations and invoices.
• Working closely with contractors, clients and project teams.
• Supporting procurement and contract management.
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required standards.
• Maintaining accurate commercial, financial and project documentation.
• Identifying cost savings and supporting effective commercial management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role within social housing, maintenance, repairs or construction.
• Good working knowledge and practical experience of SOR Codes / Schedule of Rates is essential.
• Experience pricing and valuing responsive repairs, planned works, maintenance or refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of construction processes, contracts and commercial management.
