Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering & Utilities

Location: Pontyclun, South Wales
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 plus company car
Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor based in Pontyclun.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering a range of infrastructure and utilities projects across South Wales. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from initial procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercially manage civil engineering and utilities projects
• Prepare and submit applications for payment
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow
• Identify, price and manage variations
• Prepare cost value reconciliations and monthly commercial reports
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and site teams
• Manage contractual notices, compensation events and early warnings
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with NEC contract requirements
• Assist with the negotiation and agreement of final accounts

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project variations
• Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Full UK driving licence
