Recovery Coordinator – Substance Misuse Service

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Pay: £20.00 – £23.00 p/h (depending on experience)

Contract: 3–6 months (with a strong chance of extension)

Howay! We’re hunting for a dedicated Recovery Coordinator to join a lively support service up in Newcastle. If you know your stuff when it comes to harm reduction and want to make a tangible difference in the North East, take a look at this.

• What you'll do:

  • Manage a structured caseload and handle regular risk and needs assessments.

  • Facilitate Opiate Substitution Therapy (OST) coordination, supporting clients through titrations, prescriptions, and adherence monitoring.

  • Deliver targeted harm reduction interventions, including safe injecting advice and overdose management (Naloxone distribution).

  • Conduct Blood Borne Virus (BBV) testing and screening for Hepatitis B, C, and HIV, alongside proactive Hepatitis C pathway navigation and treatment support.

  • Provide evidence-based alcohol therapies and structured psychosocial interventions for substance misuse.

  • Team up with local criminal justice, housing, and clinical teams to ensure joined-up care.

• What you need: Experience in substance misuse, valid enhanced DBS, and standard UK Right to Work.
