Recruitment Coordinator

Vertical Recruitment Limited

About Vertical Recruitment

Vertical Recruitment is an established specialist recruitment consultancy operating across the construction, engineering and property sectors.

Our working environment is professional, relaxed and supportive, without the unnecessary micromanagement or bureaucracy often associated with recruitment. We have a close-knit team of hardworking and dedicated consultants who collaborate, share information and support one another.

We are now looking for a full-time Recruitment Coordinator to work closely with James Smith, one of our founding Directors, supporting recruitment activity across our Consulting Engineering division.

The Role

As Recruitment Coordinator, you will play an important role in identifying, approaching and engaging talented professionals on behalf of our clients.

Working directly alongside James, you will help manage the recruitment process from the initial candidate search through to interview and placement. This will involve speaking with prospective candidates, discussing their experience and career plans, introducing suitable opportunities and maintaining regular contact throughout their recruitment journey.

This is a fast-paced, telephone-led role involving a high level of outbound candidate engagement. You will therefore need to be confident speaking with new people, comfortable making numerous calls and motivated by building relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search for and identify suitable candidates using our recruitment database, LinkedIn and other sourcing platforms, matching relevant professionals to our clients’ vacancies and recruitment requirements.
  • Make regular outbound calls to prospective candidates, discussing their experience, career aspirations and potential opportunities. You will conduct initial screening calls and accurately record all relevant information.
  • Build and maintain relationships with professionals across the construction and engineering sectors, ensuring every candidate receives a professional, responsive and positive experience.
  • Support candidates throughout the recruitment process by arranging interviews, providing feedback, maintaining regular contact and following up on applications, referrals, previous conversations and ongoing recruitment activity.
  • Write engaging job advertisements, LinkedIn messages, InMails, email campaigns and other recruitment marketing content, while keeping candidate and vacancy information accurate and up to date within our recruitment database.
  • Identify potential business-development opportunities through candidate conversations, market information and industry leads, while asking for referrals and recommendations to expand our professional network.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to James and the wider recruitment team.

About You

Previous recruitment experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. We are particularly interested in people with experience in recruitment, sales, customer service, account management or another telephone-based environment.

You should be:

  • A confident and engaging communicator who enjoys speaking with people and is comfortable making a high volume of outbound telephone calls.
  • Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated, resilient and willing to follow up consistently.
  • Genuinely interested in people and capable of developing strong professional relationships.
  • A natural team player who demonstrates accountability, integrity and professionalism.
  • Customer-focused and willing to go the extra mile for candidates and clients.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong written communication and administrative skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, database systems and online platforms, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technology and ways of working.
  • Professional in your approach and capable of making a positive impression on candidates, clients and business partners.

What We Offer

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and a workplace pension contribution.
  • Uncapped commission and monthly team incentives.
  • Quarterly company-funded activities and social events.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Direct mentoring and development from an experienced founding Director.
  • Structured training and the opportunity to develop your recruitment and industry knowledge.
  • Genuine scope to progress into a Recruitment Consultant role.
  • Most importantly, a rewarding role offering plenty of job satisfaction.

If you are an enthusiastic and proactive individual who enjoys speaking with people and would like to develop a career within specialist recruitment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
