An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and commercially minded Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead to join a growing organisation at an important stage of its development.

This newly created role will take ownership of the recruitment function, supporting the business in attracting, selecting and developing the talent required to support continued growth. Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, you will develop effective recruitment processes, build strong candidate pipelines and strengthen the organisation’s ability to attract high-quality people.

The role will have a particular focus on recruitment, workforce development and apprenticeship pathways, helping to identify future talent and support the long-term skills requirements of the business.

Working alongside an external HR consultant, this position will focus primarily on recruitment, candidate attraction, onboarding support and talent development rather than general HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

 Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Develop and deliver effective recruitment strategies aligned with business growth plans.
  • Work closely with managers to understand hiring requirements and workforce priorities.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities including vacancy creation, advertising, sourcing, screening and interview coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, recruitment agencies and external partners.
  • Develop talent pipelines for skilled roles, apprenticeships and future workforce requirements.
  • Support employer branding initiatives to improve attraction and awareness within the market.
  • Track recruitment activity, monitor performance and provide insights to support decision-making.
Construction Recruitment & Workforce Development
  • Develop an understanding of operational and technical roles within the construction and engineering sectors.
  • Build networks to attract skilled candidates and emerging talent.
  • Support apprenticeship recruitment and early-career development programmes.
  • Work with managers to identify future skills requirements and support workforce planning.
  • Build relationships with training providers, colleges and relevant industry partners.
Candidate Experience & Onboarding Support
  • Ensure candidates receive a professional and engaging recruitment experience.
  • Support onboarding processes and ensure new starters have a smooth transition into the business.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and candidate information.
  • Support improvements to recruitment processes and systems.
Recruitment Processes & Reporting
  • Review and improve existing recruitment processes to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve candidate attraction, retention and engagement.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership.
About You

 We are looking for a commercially aware and relationship-focused recruitment professional who enjoys building connections, identifying talent and delivering results.

You may come from a recruitment agency, internal talent acquisition, construction recruitment or a similar environment and will be comfortable managing multiple vacancies while building strong relationships across the organisation.

You will be:

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of recruitment activity.
  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of recruitment processes.

 Essential Experience 
  • Experience within recruitment, talent acquisition, resourcing or a similar people-focused role.
  • Strong candidate sourcing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing recruitment processes from vacancy through to appointment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using recruitment systems and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience 
  • Experience recruiting within construction, engineering, manufacturing or technical sectors.
  • Experience supporting apprenticeships or early-career recruitment.
  • Knowledge of employer branding and recruitment marketing.
  • Experience working with external recruitment partners.
