About Furze Hill House
Furze Hill House is a 40-bed care home in North Walsham, providing a loving, caring and supportive environment for older people.
As our Registered Care Manager, you will play a key role in leading the care team and ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of care, while helping to maintain and develop the Christian ethos that is central to life at Furze Hill House.
Furze Hill House is part of Pilgrims’ Friend Society, a Christian charity committed to serving and enriching the lives of older people through person-centred care within a nurturing Christian community.
About the role
As Registered Care Manager, you will provide strong, visible leadership across the home, working closely with colleagues, residents, relatives and the wider community.
You will:
- Lead and manage the care teams, ensuring staff are supported, motivated and appropriately trained.
- Ensure residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care in accordance with legislation, policies and our Christian values.
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of individual care plans.
- Manage complaints from residents, relatives and staff in accordance with Society policies and procedures.
- Take responsibility for the home’s budget and local purchasing, working alongside the Head Office Finance Team and within agreed budget limits.
- Build positive relationships with local churches and community groups, helping to maximise opportunities for voluntary and spiritual support.
- Uphold and promote the Christian ethos of Furze Hill House through your leadership and example.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate care leader who can combine strong management skills with a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of older people.
You will ideally have:
- Previous management experience within a residential care home or similar setting.
- A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or above.
- Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for person-centred care and supporting older people.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when working under pressure.
This role has an Occupational Requirement to be filled by an evangelical Christian under the provisions of the Equality Act 2010.

Hours
Full-time – 40 hours per week
The role will include occasional weekend and bank holiday working, together with on-call responsibilities as required.
