This is a significant management opportunity within a service supporting up to 25 Adults with a range of neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s Disease and Stroke.
We’re looking for an experienced Manager with a strong clinical service or nursing background who can take overall responsibility for the leadership, quality and operational management of the service. While nursing experience is preferred, an active NMC PIN is not essential as there is strong nursing support in and around the service.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a well-established specialist service, working alongside an experienced Clinical Lead and wider management support. You will be responsible for ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining strong oversight of safeguarding, health and safety, quality assurance and HR.
Key Responsibilities of a Registered Manager:
- Take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of a specialist nursing home supporting up to 25 residents with complex neurological needs.
- Ensure the service consistently delivers high-quality, person-centred care that protects residents' dignity, safety and wellbeing.
- Lead, motivate and develop the nursing and care team, working closely with the Clinical Lead and wider staff team.
- Maintain strong oversight of safeguarding, risk management, care planning and quality assurance.
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, relevant legislation and applicable regulatory standards.
- Provide effective oversight of clinical governance and the safe delivery of nursing and care services.
- Lead on health and safety across the service, ensuring appropriate processes and standards are maintained.
- Oversee HR responsibilities, including staff development, performance and workforce-related matters.
- Drive continuous improvement across the service, using audits, feedback and best practice to maintain high standards.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, commissioners and external stakeholders.
- Manage staffing, operational resources and budgets, ensuring the service continues to provide effective and high-quality care.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for residents and staff.
- Prepare and present reports to the Board of Trustees as required.
- Lead from the front, providing visible, confident and compassionate management across the service.
- Current or recent experience as a Registered Manager within a nursing home or adult social care setting.
- A nursing or strong clinical background is preferred, although an active NMC PIN is not essential.
- Experience managing services supporting adults with complex care needs, ideally including neurological conditions.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, health and safety and quality assurance.
- Proven experience leading, managing and developing care and nursing teams.
- Experience overseeing HR responsibilities and supporting staff development.
- Experience managing clinical governance, care planning and risk management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families and external professionals.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage the complexities of a specialist care environment.
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care, dignity and positive outcomes for residents.
- The ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties as required.
