£2,000 bonus for a Good Ofsted outcome

We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand-new two-bed children’s residential home in Nottingham.

This is a real opportunity for a Registered Manager who wants to build something properly from the start. You will lead the home through its initial Ofsted registration, recruit and develop the staff team and establish a professional, positive and child-centred culture from day one.

The home will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The Registered Manager role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the home and will:

• Lead the initial Ofsted registration process

• Recruit, manage and develop the staff team

• Establish high standards of care, safeguarding and professional practice

• Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards

• Oversee care plans, risk assessments and behaviour-support plans

• Work closely with social workers, local authorities and other professionals

• Maintain strong quality assurance, audits and regulatory standards

• Create a home where children feel safe, respected and supported to progress

About you

We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager with a strong background in children’s residential care.

You will need:

• Previous management experience within a children’s home

• Strong knowledge of Ofsted and the Children’s Homes Regulations

• Strong safeguarding knowledge

• Experience leading and developing residential childcare teams

• Experience with care planning, risk assessment and behaviour support

• Appropriate qualifications and experience for Ofsted registration

• Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills

Experience taking a new children’s home through Ofsted registration would be particularly desirable.

Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma-informed practice and quality assurance would also be advantageous.

The Registered Manager will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the home, recruit the team and establish the culture and standards from the outset.

You will also have support from the owners/directors and opportunities for longer-term progression as the organisation develops.

The successful Registered Manager must live within a sensible travelling distance of Nottingham and be able to provide a reliable local presence.
