Elite Search Associates Limited

Registered Manager – Complex Care Home

Location: Bradford
Salary: £55,000- £65,000
Service: Six-bed specialist complex care home - CQC

Elite Search Associates is recruiting on behalf of a specialist care provider seeking an experienced and values-led Registered Manager for a six-bed complex care home in Bradford.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for a specialist service supporting adults who may have learning disabilities, autism, behaviours that challenge, mental health needs, communication difficulties and complex physical or healthcare needs.

You will have the opportunity to shape the service’s culture, develop a skilled and consistent team and establish high standards of person-centred care from the outset.

The role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and day-to-day operation of the home. You will ensure the service remains safe, compliant and inspection-ready while delivering meaningful outcomes for the people it supports.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing visible, supportive and accountable leadership across the service
  • Ensuring care is safe, person-centred and focused on dignity, choice, independence and quality of life
  • Leading the recruitment, induction, supervision, development and performance management of the staff team
  • Maintaining safe staffing levels and ensuring employees have the required training and competencies
  • Developing and reviewing person-centred care plans, risk assessments and Positive Behaviour Support plans
  • Managing safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and investigations appropriately
  • Overseeing medication, health and safety, infection control and clinical governance
  • Completing audits and using findings, incidents and feedback to drive measurable improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS and all other relevant legislation
  • Managing CQC notifications, registration requirements and inspection readiness
  • Working closely with families, advocates, commissioners and multidisciplinary professionals

About you

To be considered, you should have:

  • Significant experience within adult social care, ideally in a residential setting
  • Proven management experience within a regulated care environment
  • Strong experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a senior operational care role
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, an equivalent qualification, or be actively working towards one
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
  • Practical knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, proactive strategies and de-escalation
  • Experience developing person-centred care and support plans
  • Experience managing incidents, safeguarding matters, complaints and investigations
  • Strong staff leadership, recruitment, supervision and performance-management experience

Experience supporting people with epilepsy, dysphagia, PEG feeding, diabetes, mobility needs, medication complexities or seizure management would be particularly valuable.

Previous experience of opening a new service, preparing for CQC registration or managing a service through inspection and improvement would also be advantageous.

The person

We are looking for more than someone who can simply manage the day-to-day running of a care home. You will be a compassionate, resilient and credible leader who can create a service in which:

  • People are respected, heard and supported to have genuine choice and control
  • Staff feel valued, developed and accountable
  • Families and professionals are listened to

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional who wants to lead a specialist service and have a genuine influence over its culture, team and future development.

Safeguarding

Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people it supports. The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
