Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (Single Occupancy)

Location: Southport
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a single occupancy children's home supporting one young person aged 8-17 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of the home, ensuring the highest standards of childcare and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the residential care team.
  • Promote a child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.
  • Ensure the young person's physical, emotional, educational, and social needs are met.
  • Develop and implement high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with the child, their family members, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
  • Lead on safeguarding matters and ensure robust protection measures are in place.
  • Manage budgets, staffing rotas, recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and improve service quality through regular audits and development plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

About You

We are looking for a motivated leader who is committed to achieving exceptional outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timescales).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a supervisory or management role in residential childcare.
  • Significant experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex behaviours.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and children's residential care regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing care team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
