Are you a Reliability Engineer with experience delivering complex systems within the defence, aerospace or another safety-critical environment?

You will play a key role in developing reliability, availability and maintainability evidence throughout the engineering lifecycle, while working closely with systems engineers, customers and other technical stakeholders.

The Role

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) activities across the project lifecycle. You will develop reliability models, support design reviews and produce the technical evidence required for R&M and Safety Cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop reliability prediction models, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and FMECAs.
• Produce quantitative evidence to support R&M Cases and Safety Cases.
• Analyse, manage and maintain RAM requirements, ensuring traceability from requirements through to verification and validation.
• Work with Systems Engineering teams to develop appropriate system architectures and designs.
• Ensure engineering processes and outputs comply with relevant Defence Standards, regulations and industry best practice.
• Use Isograph™ for reliability prediction modelling, RBDs and associated FMECAs.
• Lead the development and delivery of reliability models and technical case reports.
• Work with customers and internal stakeholders to manage technical queries, requirements and design changes.
• Support Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling to help define effective support solutions and spares strategies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of reliability engineering tools, processes and ways of working.
• Promote consistency, technical best practice and effective engineering processes across projects.

What You will Bring

Essential

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience working in Reliability Engineering for complex systems.
• Experience supporting Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities during system development.
• Practical experience with Isograph™ or comparable reliability engineering tools and methodologies.
• Experience handling large datasets with strong data integrity and configuration control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly around RAM requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering information including schematics, wiring diagrams, CAD models and design specifications.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to resolve technical issues directly with engineers, customers and other stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
• High attention to detail, particularly where reliability analysis can have safety-critical implications.
• Experience working with sensitive information and a strong understanding of good security practices.
• Strong IT and data management skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Desirable

• Experience with electronic and electrical engineering designs, ideally within the defence or aerospace sector.
• Knowledge of RAMS engineering standards, methodologies and best practice.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and Atlassian Jira.
• Experience with requirements management tools.
