Role Overview
Our client is seeking a hands‑on Repairs & Disrepair Surveyor to support the management of day‑to‑day responsive repairs and legal disrepair cases. This is a field‑based role requiring regular visits to tenants’ homes, close collaboration with contractors, and coordination with the in‑house legal team on case progression and formal documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day‑to‑day reactive repairs across the housing portfolio.
- Work directly with contractors to ensure repairs are completed to required standards.
- Handle legal disrepair cases, acting as a liaison between tenants, contractors, and the legal team.
- Produce accurate and comprehensive Scott Schedules and other required legal documentation.
- Visit tenants’ homes to assess issues, document findings, and ensure safety and compliance.
- Support repairs‑related projects, including safety issue management and case‑specific interventions.
Working Arrangements
- Field‑based / Onsite role – extensive work in tenants’ homes.
- Not an office‑based or compliance‑focused post.
- Collaboration with contractors, repairs supervisors, and the legal team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing reactive / day‑to‑day repairs.
- Experience with disrepair case management.
- Ability to draft Scott Schedules and understand legal repair requirements.
- Confidence engaging with tenants in their homes, including dealing with challenging environments.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
