Senior Residential Care Practitioner – Children’s Residential Home (Derby)
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a 2-bedded children’s residential home in Derby, supporting young people with complex needs in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.

Role Overview
As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, and providing guidance to staff while ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
Key Requirements
- Must hold one of the following:
- Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
- Minimum 1 year experience working in children’s residential care
- Minimum 1 year experience managing or supervising a team
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Working Pattern
- Approx. 56.4 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
- Shift pattern:
- 08:00 start – late shift + sleep
- Morning handover the following day (08:00–08:30)
- 3-week rolling rota
- Approx. 10 shifts per month
- Includes training and team meetings (approx. 244.5 hours/month total)
