Role Overview
Salary: £55,000 per year
Position: Residential Home Manager (Non-Nursing)
Key Focus: Leading the care team, maintaining compliance and safeguarding standards, and ensuring high-quality resident support.

NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care Management (or equivalent)
Previous experience managing a similar residential care environment

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary care team. Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and training needs analyses to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high staff retention.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain full accountability for CQC (Care Quality Commission) compliance, statutory regulations, and internal quality standards. Conduct regular audits of care plans, medication management, and health and safety.
Safeguarding: Act as the primary safeguarding lead for the home, ensuring all incidents or concerns are managed, investigated, and reported promptly in line with local authority policies.
Resident Care & Wellbeing: Oversee the assessment of resident needs, care planning, and review processes to ensure person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, and choice.
Operational & Financial Management: Manage the home's budget effectively, overseeing occupancy levels, resource allocation, rota management, and collaborating with local authorities and healthcare professionals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, communicative relationships with residents' families, advocates, external health professionals, and regulatory bodies.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent QCF/RQF qualification).
Experience: Proven track record of successful management within a residential care setting (non-nursing) with a strong history of positive inspection ratings.
Knowledge Base: Comprehensive understanding of current social care legislation, CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety standards.
Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle complex operational challenges calmly and effectively.
