Your Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people living in residential homes.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their goals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting children with their daily routines and personal development
• Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and emotional wellbeing
• Encouraging independence, life skills, and positive behaviour
• Supporting children to attend school, appointments, family contact, and community activities
• Creating a safe, caring, and therapeutic home environment
• Safeguarding children and promoting their welfare at all times
• Recording daily observations and maintaining accurate care records
• Working alongside social workers, schools, healthcare professionals, and families
• Following individual Care Plans, Placement Plans, and Risk Assessments
• Supporting children through challenging situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Experience working with children or young people (Residential Care preferred)
• Passion for improving children's lives
• Caring, patient, and resilient personality
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Good written English and record-keeping skills
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

• Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• PMVA/MAPA or behaviour management training
