Help young people build the confidence and skills they need for independent living.

We are recruiting Residential Support Workers for an award-winning provider delivering supported accommodation for young people aged 16–18 who are leaving care.

You will be based at one service, with the location matched to a suitable vacancy local to you. This role does not involve working across multiple homes.

Many of the young people have complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will build positive, trusting relationships and provide consistent support as they prepare for adulthood.

You will be supported by experienced managers and in-house social workers, who offer guidance on support practices and help teams respond to young people’s individual needs.

The role

  • Support young people to develop practical skills, including cooking, budgeting and managing their accommodation.

  • Encourage engagement in education, employment and training.

  • Provide emotional support and help young people navigate challenges.

  • Promote positive routines, healthy relationships and informed choices.

  • Follow individual support plans, recognise safeguarding concerns and maintain accurate records.

  • Work closely with colleagues, managers and in-house social workers to deliver consistent, young-person-centred support.

About you

We are looking for caring, reliable and resilient people who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

Experience supporting young people, care leavers or people with complex needs would be valuable. You should bring patience, strong communication skills and a commitment to helping young people develop their independence.

Available shifts

  • Day shifts: 8am–6pm

  • Mid shifts: 12pm–10pm

  • Night shifts: 10pm–8am

Full-time and part-time contracts are available.

Why join?

  • Salary of £27,800–£30,300, depending on experience.

  • A role based at one service in a location suitable for you.

  • Work for an award-winning provider.

  • Receive guidance from experienced managers and in-house social workers.

  • A range of shifts and contract options.

  • Make a meaningful contribution to young people’s transition from care to independent living.
