Are you an experienced children’s residential leader ready to make an impact beyond one home?

Care & Support Services is looking for a Responsible Individual to join our senior leadership team and help shape the continued development of our children’s residential services.

Working directly with our Company Director and established Registered Managers, you will have genuine influence over quality, safeguarding, leadership, culture and service development.

We are looking for someone who is visible, supportive and approachable, while confident enough to professionally challenge practice and hold managers accountable when standards need to improve.

The Role

You will provide senior regulatory and quality oversight across our children’s homes, supporting and developing Registered Managers while maintaining a strong presence within the services. This will include regular home visits, quality assurance and file audits, safeguarding oversight, reviewing Regulation 44 reports and Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews, monitoring staffing and safer recruitment, and ensuring services remain ready for Ofsted inspection.

You will identify emerging risks, monitor service performance and ensure improvement actions are followed through. You will also contribute to safe placement matching and complex referrals, support new-home registrations and service development, and build effective professional relationships with Ofsted, Local Authorities and other partner agencies.

About You

You will have significant senior-management experience within Ofsted-regulated children’s residential care, ideally as a Responsible Individual, Registered Manager, Regional/Operations Manager, Head of Service or similar.

You will have experience supporting and developing managers, strong safeguarding and quality-assurance knowledge, and a good working understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted SCCIF. Experience preparing homes for Ofsted inspection is essential, along with the confidence to support, challenge and hold Registered Managers accountable.

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent is required, together with a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly between services.

Previous RI experience, multi-home oversight, new registrations, Good/Outstanding Ofsted experience and knowledge of EBD, SEMH, PACE and trauma-informed practice would be highly advantageous.
