Our Client has a requirement for a Risk Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Helensburgh.

Role Purpose:

  • Lead the identification, analysis and management of programme and project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure risks and opportunities are effectively captured, assessed and mitigated to support successful project delivery.
  • Provide risk management expertise across a complex infrastructure programme operating within a live operational environment.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to maintain programme momentum and support informed decision-making.
  • Deliver risk reporting, governance and assurance activities to ensure risks are effectively managed and communicated.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Refresh and maintain programme and project risk registers while working collaboratively with wider project teams.
  • Chair regular risk review meetings and facilitate risk workshops.
  • Produce meeting minutes, risk dashboards and monthly reporting packs.
  • Facilitate risk and opportunity identification, assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Review risks to ensure accuracy, relevancy and effective management.
  • Track mitigation actions and report on progress against risk reduction activities.
  • Support quantitative risk analysis activities, including schedule and cost risk assessments.
  • Lead assumptions management and maintain associated project data and assumptions logs.
  • Provide strategic oversight of programme risks and develop risk profiles against key milestones and activities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify emerging risks that could impact programme delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed risk management processes, governance requirements and operating procedures.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in risk management, including experience as a lead or sole Risk Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management processes, methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience of risk analysis within infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and identify key risk trends and insights.
  • Strong organisational, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience managing delivery and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Good IT skills and experience using risk management tools.
  • Sole UK National.
  • Eligible to obtain or currently hold SC Security Clearance.
  • Able to work onsite a minimum of 2 days per week, with flexibility to increase attendance in line with business requirements.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within government, defence or regulated project environments.
  • Experience managing risk within complex operational environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Agile and adaptable approach to changing business requirements.
  • Experience working within collaborative programme environments.

Qualifications:

  • APM Project Management Qualification.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner.
  • Management of Risk (M_o_R).
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
