School Administrator (Temporary to Permanent)

Salary: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-Time
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join a busy and welcoming school in Reading on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the school, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing front-of-house reception duties and acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, staff and pupils.
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and school databases.
  • Processing attendance records and monitoring absences.
  • Supporting admissions, enrolment and student documentation processes.
  • Assisting with school communications, newsletters and correspondence.
  • Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff.
  • Managing filing systems and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Coordinating meetings, appointments and school events.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a School Administrator within an educational setting.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • Proven experience using School Management Information Systems (MIS), such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
Desirable
  • Previous experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures within an educational setting.
