We are seeking an Estates Assistant to support the day to day operation, maintenance and presentation of a thriving all through school. The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the school's estate, carrying out general maintenance tasks and ensuring the school grounds and facilities remain safe, secure and operational at all times.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the school site each day.
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
• Ensure classrooms, communal areas and external grounds are safe, clean and well presented.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks across the site.
• Set up rooms and equipment for school events and activities.
• Support contractors and oversee visitors working on site.
• Move furniture and equipment as required.
• Monitor stock levels and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with site security and emergency procedures.
• Support the wider operations team with day to day tasks.

Requirements

• Previous caretaker, estates, facilities or maintenance experience is desirable.
• Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent organisational and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• Good communication skills.
