Salary: £35,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

A welcoming primary school in Camden is seeking an experienced and proactive School Premises Manager to oversee the daily maintenance, security and safety of its site.

This is a varied, hands-on role for a reliable professional who can take ownership of the premises and ensure the school remains safe, compliant and well maintained.

Responsibilities

As the School Premises Manager, you will:

• Oversee site maintenance, security, cleaning and presentation.
• Complete minor repairs and arrange larger maintenance work.
• Manage opening, closing, keys and alarm systems.
• Conduct health and safety checks, risk assessments and inspections.
• Monitor fire-safety systems and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate contractors and external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate premises and compliance records.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for school activities.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance or security issues.
• Liaise with senior leaders regarding site priorities and budgets.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience as a Premises Manager, Site Manager, Caretaker or Facilities Manager.
• Practical maintenance and basic DIY skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety and site compliance.
• Confidence managing contractors and prioritising work.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• A proactive, dependable and professional approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding pupils and staff.

School-based premises experience is highly desirable.
