About the Role:

Put your practical skills to work in a supportive specialist school in Hertfordshire. As Site Assistant, you will help keep the school safe, welcoming and ready for learning each day.

Working alongside the Site Manager, you will carry out minor repairs, painting, grounds care and general maintenance. You will also prepare rooms for events, support site security and respond to urgent issues, bringing a practical approach to changing priorities.

This varied role suits someone reliable and proactive who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a busy school community.

Requirements:

• Experience in general maintenance, caretaking or a similar role.
  
• A full UK driving licence.
  
• Practical DIY skills, including minor repairs and painting.
  
• An understanding of health and safety and safe manual handling.
  
• A commitment to safeguarding and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, painting and caretaking tasks.
  
• Keep buildings, grounds and access routes clean and safe.
  
• Check doors, windows and alarms, reporting hazards promptly.
  
• Set up rooms for meetings, events and after-school activities.
  
• Receive deliveries and safely move furniture and equipment.
  
• Support contractor access and respond to urgent site issues.
