School Sports Coach – Primary Schools
Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and experienced School Sports Coaches to join our team delivering high-quality sports sessions in primary schools.
The main focus of the role will be delivering after-school sports clubs, with coaches travelling to different schools to provide fun, engaging and well-organised sessions for primary-aged children.
Additional hours may also be available through wraparound care, holiday camps and some PE delivery, making this a great opportunity for coaches looking to build a regular programme of work across the school week.
Pay
£20–£25 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and level of responsibility.
The Role
You will be responsible for:

Delivering engaging sports sessions for primary-school-aged children

Coaching after-school clubs across a range of local schools

Planning and adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities

Creating a positive, inclusive and enjoyable environment
-
Managing groups of children safely and confidently
-
Encouraging participation, teamwork and positive behaviour

Ensuring sessions are well organised and appropriately challenging

Communicating professionally with school staff, parents and colleagues
-
Following safeguarding, health and safety and company procedures
Coaches will need to be prepared to travel between schools and venues depending on the weekly timetable.
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in coaches who have:

Previous experience coaching primary-school-aged children

Confidence managing groups of children independently

A positive and enthusiastic coaching style

Good communication and organisational skills

Reliability and professionalism

The ability to adapt sessions for different ages and abilities

A genuine interest in helping children enjoy sport and physical activity

The ability and willingness to travel to different schools
Experience delivering sports clubs within schools is highly desirable.
A sports coaching qualification, teaching qualification or other relevant experience would be beneficial.

While the main role is delivering school sports and after-school clubs, additional hours may be available through:

This can provide opportunities for coaches looking for more regular hours alongside their core school coaching timetable.
Hours
Part-time, term-time
Most after-school sessions take place between approximately 3:00pm and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Exact hours will depend on the schools and clubs allocated.
Additional daytime, morning and school holiday work may also be available.
