TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Catholic secondary school in Coventry to appoint an ambitious and highly effective Head of Science. The successful Head of Science will join a stable, well-established and well-resourced faculty with a strong culture of collaboration, professional development and high expectations, where Science outcomes are above the national average.

The school is looking to appoint a Head of Science on a permanent basis from September, with strategic responsibility for the Science and IT Faculty alongside an existing Third in Faculty responsible for IT. The Head of Science will provide clear strategic direction, build on the faculty's existing strengths and drive continued improvement in teaching, learning, curriculum development and student outcomes across Science and IT.

The successful Head of Science will have:

• QTS with a relevant Science specialism
• Experience of leading Science or a closely related faculty within a secondary school setting
• A sustained record of raising attainment and maintaining high standards
• Experience of curriculum development and innovation
• Strong leadership, communication and team-development skills
• A commitment to actively supporting and contributing to the school's Catholic mission, values and ethos
