A secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a reliable Science Technician to join their Science Department on a temporary basis. Working through Hays Education, you'll play a key role in preparing resources and supporting practical science teaching across all key disciplines.
Key Duties:
- Prepare and set up equipment for science lessons and practical activities.
- Support teachers with experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintain, clean and test laboratory equipment.
- Monitor and replenish science stock and resources.
- Ensure laboratories remain safe and compliant.
- Store and dispose of chemicals in line with procedures.
- Assist with risk assessments and departmental records.
- Provide general administrative support to the Science Department.
Requirements:
- Previous Science Technician or laboratory experience desirable.
- Science-related qualifications beneficial.
- Understanding of laboratory health and safety practices.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
